Throwbacking again

Hello everyone out there! 🖖 Me again! Like the last throwback I did, this one will also be about the highlights of my life in Barcelona for the past 2 weeks. 1. The first thing I will be writing about is something that is going to shock some of the people that know me: I love to eat, for real, I adore it. This is why I don't mind taking my time to cook a proper meal instead of eating something easy but horrible. I don't eat to survive, I eat to enjoy it as much as I can. I used to cook a lot when I lived in Cyprus but when I got back home after that, I got very lazy and I only cooked every 2 weeks (because no-one was home and I had no other choice than to cook for myself 😇). Below you can see some pictures that I took to send to my mom as proof that I was cooking good, healthy, proper food instead of eating fast food all the time. The good thing about cooking in this apartment is that there is no freezer. This means that we can't put pizza, meat or frozen vegetables in the freezer and that we have to cook and eat freshly bought food.

2. The second thing I will talk to you about is the night that Belgium played against Russia on the 21th of March. I went together with a colleague student (shout out to Joyce) to a Belgian bar called Belchica. This place mostly serves the best Belgian beers, overpriced of course, but it was nice. Because we were surrounded by other Belgian people, Belgian beer and we were watching our national team play, it really felt like home. It was a nice game! We won 3 against 1 and everyone in the bar was in a good mood. The only sad thing was that I had to work the next morning so I could not stay longer than midnight (just to remind you: I’m the only person in Spain that has to wake up at 6:45 to go to work).😴

3. The last thing I will discuss is the fact that my family visited me in Barcelona the last few days. They arrived here last Thursday and they left this afternoon (Tuesday). They were here for 4 full days and we did not waste one minute of it. Thursday night I made a reservation in La Foga, a very nice restaurant close to my apartment. My family was 45 minutes late and the waiter actually thought that my date did not show up. 🤦‍♂ The next day I had to work but at night we did a guided Tapas & Wine tour through the centre of Barcelona. We stopped in 4 different Tapabars and every time we got a very detailed explanation about the place, the food or the drinks form our lovely guide Penelope from Mexico.

Saturday morning we didn’t have time to rest and enjoy our hangover, no, we had an appointment with another guide at 11 AM that was going to show us Barcelona by bike. So we went to a lot of different places in Barcelona including El born, Sagrada Familia, Arc de Triomf, some Gaudi buildings and much more. You can see the pictures below or in the 'Pictures' menu. Because the tour was with electric bikes and we were not exhausted enough, we also went to Parc Güell. The entire parc was designed by Gaudi and the famous salamander of Barcelona is located in this parc. At night we went to the magic fountain and for some tapas.

On Sunday we had a calm day, we just had a walk in Parc de la Ciutadella and it was very sunny. We also went to some typical bars in the area El Born to have some Estrella's. On Monday I had to go back to work and we went out for dinner, the "goodbye" dinner.
